A directory built
for the people who
actually train.
SweatMap is a human-curated index of independent gyms, studios and fitness classes. Less algorithm, more useful: real schedules, real prices, real amenities.
Started because
we couldn't find a yoga class.
SweatMap began with a simple frustration: every fitness app was either a booking marketplace pushing the same chains, or Google Maps with rotting business hours and no class schedules. The independent studios — the reformer pilates with three rooms, the BJJ gym above the deli, the boxing club in the basement — got buried.
So we started building a directory. A real one. Curated by humans, structured for search and discovery, focused on the indie operators who actually move the culture forward.
Today, SweatMap is the catalog we wished existed when we moved to a new city — and it grows every week.
Four things
we won't compromise on.
Independent first
We index the small studio with three reformers before we index the chain on the corner. The independent operators are the soul of city fitness.
Real information
Hours, prices, schedules, amenities — structured, normalized, kept current. Less storytelling, more facts.
No paywalls
Browsing SweatMap is free. Listing is free. Premium placement is opt-in and clearly labeled.
Built for athletes
For the people who actually train — runners, lifters, climbers, yogis. Not algorithms designed to keep you scrolling.
